RULES POINT SPREADS
In determining the winner of games, points will be added to the lower seeded teams as follows: The higher number seed MINUS the lower number seed  PLUS 1/2 point. (16 seed plays 1 seed, the 16 seed gets 15 1/2 points ... 16 - 1 + 1/2 = 15 1/2)

Explanation of above points chart
The total maximum for teams seeded 1&2 is 52, this is close to the expected or probable points the best 1&2 should get.  The total maximum for teams seeded 3&4 is 54, this is a little higher (rewarding a better effort).  However the expected or probable points a good 3&4 should get is more likely the 44 (one round earlier).  The total maximum for teams seeded 5&6 is 56, this is a little higher again (rewarding a better effort). However the expected or  probable points a good 5&6 should get is more likely, again, the 44 (but again, one round earlier).  It continues like this with most points allotted to the teams in the position a team that does good is most likely to reach. However the decreasing allotted points stops one long shot team from controlling the entire pool.

The chart was established to give all  teams about the same amount of points for a good effort at their seeding. This system equalizes 1 through 16. Small change in 1 through 6 (basis for overall scoring system). Limits 7 through 10 from being too strong (keeps one team from controlling the pool; i.e., Temple's 56 pts last year). Helps 11 through 16 to have a chance at points. This makes us pick throughout the entire pool. The best overall balanced good picks making the winner, instead of one long shot hot pick dominating.
